How Dapsone + Adapalene Works Dapsone + Adapalene is a combination of two medicines: Dapsone and Adapalene, which are used to treat acne (pimples). Dapsone is an antibiotic that inhibits bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient necessary for bacterial multiplication. Adapalene is a derivative of vitamin A that prevents the accumulation of sebum (the skin's natural oil), unclogs pores, and promotes the natural exfoliation of the outer layers of skin.

Common side effects of Dapsone and Adapalene include skin irritation, erythema (skin redness), itching, dryness, and a burning sensation at the site of application.
