How it Works
How Azelaic Acid and Salicylic Acid Work Azelaic Acid and Salicylic Acid is a combination of two medications that treat acne (pimples). Azelaic Acid is a naturally occurring acid that works by eliminating acne-causing bacteria and reducing inflammation (redness and swelling) of the skin. Salicylic Acid is a keratolytic agent that also targets acne-causing bacteria. Additionally, it reduces oil production in the skin, promotes the turnover of skin cells, and helps keep your pores clear.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Azelaic Acid and Salicylic Acid include application site reactions such as burning, irritation, itching, and redness, as well as tingling.
