Chlorthalidone + Cilnidipine + Olmesartan Medoxomil

Uses

Olmesartan Medoxomil, Cilnidipine, and Chlorthalidone are used in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure).

How it Works

How Olmesartan Medoxomil, Cilnidipine, and Chlorthalidone work Olmesartan Medoxomil, Cilnidipine, and Chlorthalidone is a combination of three medications: Olmesartan Medoxomil, Cilnidipine, and Chlorthalidone. Olmesartan Medoxomil is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB), while Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB). Together, they work by widening and relaxing blood vessels, thereby lowering blood pressure. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic that helps remove excess water and certain electrolytes from the body through urine. Over time, it also contributes to relaxing blood vessels and improving blood flow.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Olmesartan Medoxomil, Cilnidipine, and Chlorthalidone include headache, dizziness, back pain, nausea, abdominal pain, fatigue, diarrhea, increased triglyceride levels in the blood, increased uric acid levels in the blood, bronchitis (inflammation of the airways), cough, joint inflammation, gastroenteritis, dyspepsia, skeletal pain, blood in urine, urinary tract infection, urticaria, skin rash, peripheral edema, increased sodium levels in the blood, increased glucose levels in the blood, decreased potassium levels in the blood, postural hypotension (low blood pressure), loss of appetite, increased liver enzymes, increased blood urea, increased creatine phosphokinase (CPK) levels in the blood, and impotence.

  • Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes and heart attacks.
  • It may cause dizziness; therefore, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position.
  • Olmesartan Medoxomil + Cilnidipine + Chlorthalidone may cause dehydration.
  • Drink plenty of fluids and inform your doctor if you experience extreme thirst, muscle weakness, or a very dry mouth.
  • The use of Olmesartan Medoxomil + Cilnidipine + Chlorthalidone during pregnancy or breastfeeding is unsafe.
