Esomeprazole + Levosulpiride

Uses

Levosulpiride and Esomeprazole are used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (acid reflux) and peptic ulcer disease.

How it Works

Levosulpiride and Esomeprazole work together as a combination treatment. Levosulpiride is an antipsychotic and gastrointestinal prokinetic agent, while Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces stomach acid production. Together, they help manage gastrointestinal disorders effectively.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Levosulpiride and Esomeprazole include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, flatulence, abdominal pain, dizziness, joint pain, drowsiness, absence of menstrual periods, breast enlargement in males, unusual production of breast milk in both women and men, and altered libido.

  • It is a well-tolerated medication that provides long-lasting relief.
  • Take it one hour before meals, preferably in the morning.
  • Inform your doctor if you experience:
    • Watery diarrhea
    • Fever
    • Stomach pain that persists
  • Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Levosulpiride + Esomeprazole, as it may increase the risk of stomach damage.
  • Long-term use may lead to weak or broken bones.
  • Ensure adequate intake of dietary calcium and vitamin D, or consider supplements.
  • Do not take Levosulpiride + Esomeprazole for longer than prescribed.
