How Formoterol and Tiotropium work Formoterol and Tiotropium is a combination of two medicines: Formoterol and Tiotropium. Formoterol is a bronchodilator, while Tiotropium is an anticholinergic. They work by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widening the airways. Together, they make breathing easier.

Common side effects of Formoterol and Tiotropium include dryness in the mouth, dizziness, nasopharyngitis (inflammation of the throat and nasal passages), insomnia (difficulty sleeping), dry throat, increased heart rate, blurred vision, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, urinary retention, constipation, upper respiratory tract infection, sinus inflammation, stomach discomfort, fungal infection of the oropharynx, headache, tremors, palpitations, cough, voice changes, paresthesia (tingling or pricking sensation), and changes in taste.
