Lactitol and Ispaghula are used in the treatment of constipation.

How it Works

How Lactitol and Ispaghula Work Lactitol and Ispaghula is a combination of lactitol monohydrate and ispaghula. Lactitol monohydrate functions by increasing peristalsis (contractions) in the colon, resulting in a higher frequency of bowel movements. Ispaghula husk works by absorbing water and increasing stool volume, making it softer and easier to pass.

Common side effects of Lactitol and Ispaghula Cough include:

Expert Advice

Lactitol + Ispaghula is prescribed for short-term relief from constipation.
It should preferably be taken at bedtime, as it requires 6 to 8 hours to show effect.
Take it at least 2 hours after taking other medicines, as it may interfere with their absorption.
Inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach disorders, such as appendicitis or bowel obstruction.
Do not take any other laxative along with Lactitol + Ispaghula without consulting your doctor.

Some healthy tips to prevent constipation:

Eat more fiber in your diet; the recommended daily intake is 20-35g.
Drink 8-10 glasses of water per day.
Exercise regularly, at least 3 times per week.
Do not hold in stool, as this can worsen bowel issues.
