Latanoprost is used to treat glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

How it Works

How Latanoprost works Latanoprost is a prostaglandin analogue that increases the outflow of aqueous humor, thereby reducing elevated eye pressure.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Latanoprost include foreign body sensation, conjunctival hyperemia, stinging in the eyes, altered eyelash length, and eye discomfort.

Expert Advice

Latanoprost helps lower intraocular pressure and reduces the risk of vision loss.
For optimal results, instill one drop once daily in the evening or at night in the affected eye(s).
Apply gentle pressure on the corner of the eye (near the nose) for approximately 1 minute immediately after administering the drop.
Wait at least 5-10 minutes before applying the next medication in the same eye to prevent dilution.
Latanoprost may cause brown pigmentation of the iris, which could be permanent.
Your eyelashes may become denser, and the skin on your eyelids may darken.
These changes should resolve after discontinuation of Latanoprost.
