Levodropropizine is used in the treatment of dry cough.

How it Works

How Levodropropizine works: Levodropropizine is an antitussive (cough suppressant). It suppresses cough by reducing the activity of the cough center in the brain.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Levodropropizine include nausea, dizziness, headache, fatigue, diarrhea, heartburn, palpitations, vomiting, numbness, and abdominal discomfort.

Expert Advice

  • You have been prescribed Levodropropizine for the symptomatic relief of dry cough.
  • It is generally taken for a short duration, until the symptoms resolve.
  • Measure the syrup using a special dose-measuring spoon or cup, not a regular tablespoon.
  • Drink extra fluids to help loosen congestion and lubricate your throat while taking this medication.
  • It should not be administered to patients with chronic cough or when the cough is accompanied by excessive secretions.
  • Inform your doctor if your cough lasts more than 7 days, returns, or occurs with fever, rash, or headache.
  • These symptoms could indicate a serious condition.
