Neomycin is an antibiotic that eliminates bacteria by inhibiting the synthesis of essential proteins necessary for bacterial vital functions. Triamcinolone is a steroid that blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause the skin to become red, swollen, and itchy.
