Pertuzumab is used in the treatment of metastatic breast cancer and early-stage breast cancer.

How it Works

How Pertuzumab works Pertuzumab is a monoclonal antibody designed to recognize and bind to specific proteins on the surface of cancer cells. It attaches to the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) and may kill or inhibit the growth of cancer cells.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Pertuzumab include cough, diarrhea, dizziness, fatigue, nausea, stomach inflammation, hair loss, heartburn, muscle pain, rash, decreased blood cell counts (red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets), and breathlessness.
