Isopropamide is an anticholinergic which works by blocking the binding of the acetylcholine (a chemical messenger) to its receptor in nerve cells. This relaxes the smooth muscles in the digestive tract and decreases the spasms. Trifluoperazine is a typical antipsychotic.
